PE firm Thoma Bravo targets cybersecurity boom with Exostar
Thoma Bravo has expanded its IT and cybersecurity presence with the acquisition of Exostar. The purchase aims to strengthen Thoma Bravo's security portfolio. The private equity firm is also the proud parent of Sophos, the next-generation cybersecurity leader. The move will allow Exostar to strengthen its position in the enterprise software space with business transaction management, risk, collaboration, information and identity management products. It will also help Exostar accelerate business expansion activities while enhancing growth in its customer base. The current 150,000 customers relying on the Exostar cloud platform range from aerospace and defense to life sciences and healthcare. A spokesman for Thoma Bravo considered that the deal is conditional on closing conditions and regulatory approvals, while the actual terms of the acquisition of Virginia-based Exostar remain undisclosed.
