Bitdefender's report of more than 1,200 IT and security professionals in six countries found that less than 45% of organizations regularly review their cloud security posture, a worrying trend given the rise of multi-cloud environments, according to ZDNet.
Despite current technological advances, many companies rely heavily on cloud service providers for security and often neglect their responsibility to secure sensitive data, noted Paul Hadji, Vice President of Cybersecurity Services, Asia Pacific at Bitdefender.
Identity and access management topped the top security concerns for respondents at 38.7%, followed by cloud compliance at 38%, shadow IT at 35.9%, and human error at 32%. Confidence in detecting AI threats such as deepfakes is mixed, with 74.1% believing their teams can detect such threats.
Despite high confidence in tackling traditional threats such as ransomware and phishing, 57% of organizations said they had experienced a data breach in the past year, with the UK recording the highest incidence at 73.5%.
