P0 Security, a leader in cloud identity security, recently raised $15 million in a Series A funding round.
The round was led by SYN Ventures and saw participation from leading cloud security company Zscaler, along with existing investor Lightspeed Venture Partners. The company also welcomed SYN Ventures Operating Partner Ryan Bermeh to its board.
Since its inception, P0 Security has raised a total of $20 million. The company stands out in the cloud-native landscape, which is increasingly characterized by an explosion of resources, data locations, and identities that extend beyond traditional network boundaries. This complexity has made legacy identity and access management solutions insufficient for today’s distributed digital infrastructures.
P0 Security offers a pioneering approach to access management and identity security. The company offers a unified Identity Management (IGA) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) platform designed specifically for cloud environments.
Its agentless design enables rapid deployment, giving security teams unprecedented visibility and control over human and non-human identities accessing cloud resources. The platform is designed to support seamless integration and access rights management, simplifying the access lifecycle for developers and machine identities through easy-to-use workflows.
Commenting on the latest funding, Shashwat Sehgal, CEO and co-founder of P0 Security, highlighted the strong support their vision has received in the market. “We have seen tremendous momentum since P0 Security emerged out of nowhere just ten months ago. This funding is a testament to the confidence our investors have in our vision, our product, and the market opportunity that lies ahead,” Sehgal said.
He explained that traditional tools fail to address the complexities of the cloud, especially the involvement of non-human identities. The P0 Security platform is designed to answer the pressing question of who or what has access to organizational cloud resources, and thus regain control for organizations.
The new capital will enable P0 Security to significantly expand its marketing and engineering teams, aiming to serve its growing customer base of major players in the technology and financial services sectors.
Ryan Bermeier of SYN Ventures praised P0 Security’s innovative approach: “P0 Security is a natural fit within the SYN portfolio,” he said. “With a proven track record of success from leaders like Splunk, Cisco, and Semgrep, the P0 team is the first to address a critical business need with a 100% cloud-centric, unified platform for access management for both human and non-human identities. This isn’t just a tired update to IGA and PAM installed in the cloud, it’s a first-class solution to a real problem.”
