As businesses continue to embrace the advancements of hybrid cloud and AI, there is an issue around protecting valuable data.
As a result, companies are rushing to assess their security capabilities and see if they are advanced enough to combat increasing cyber attacks.
As a result, IBM Consulting is combining its leading cybersecurity services with Microsoft’s security technology suite to help businesses modernize their end-to-end security operations. By providing tools and expertise, the two companies are also leveraging the cloud to protect data and ultimately drive business growth.
IBM Consulting has partnered with Microsoft for several years, prioritizing the development and delivery of leading digital solutions for the enterprise. This latest edition aims to successfully navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape that requires cybersecurity to be prioritized as a matter of urgency.
“Security can no longer be an afterthought, but rather a core part of every organization’s core operations,” said Mark Hughes, global managing partner, Cybersecurity Services, IBM Consulting. “Our collaboration with Microsoft provides customers with a streamlined, efficient and cost-effective approach to protecting cloud workloads and effectively managing the threat landscape that organizations face on a regular basis.”
Commitment to modernizing business security processes
IBM Threat Detection and Response (TDR) Cloud Native is designed to combine Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud with AI-powered security technologies to help accelerate threat detection and response for customers.
As part of its offerings, IBM Consulting’s global team of security analysts provides 24/7 monitoring and investigation of security alerts across its clients’ hybrid cloud environments. According to IBM, the services can also help businesses improve security operations to maximize the value of Microsoft’s comprehensive security solutions.
TDR Cloud Native leverages the full scope of Microsoft's security stack and can protect customers' Microsoft cloud environments.
This comes at a pivotal time for businesses. While new technologies have great potential to revolutionize key industries, recent studies have shown that workforces struggle to implement them. With significant knowledge gaps, businesses may face consequences such as compliance, legal issues, and ethical considerations.
“As digital transformation accelerates across all industries, organizations need a comprehensive, unified approach to cloud security that protects their entire enterprise from chip to cloud,” said Alim Rayani, vice president of security marketing at Microsoft. “Our partnership with IBM Consulting makes it easier for customers to securely leverage the power of cloud and AI to drive business innovation.”
Cloud Identity Management
Cloud identity is rapidly becoming an increasingly important area of an organization's cybersecurity strategy, but this is complicated by the wide range of tools and services available.
Globally, cloud security threats continue to rise, with attackers increasingly targeting vulnerabilities in cloud accounts to access sensitive data. As these vulnerabilities increase, it underscores the need for businesses to harden their systems.
In response, IBM Consulting and Microsoft’s partnership is designed to protect the enterprise’s cloud computing journey, while improving the identity landscape. The goal is to deliver a more optimized, cost-effective, and secure service for customers in the future.
The collaboration also builds on the company’s long history of developing enterprise-grade security solutions, jointly investing in go-to-market initiatives and retraining programs to support new offerings and help customers bring security to the forefront of their cloud and AI journeys.
For example, 1,300 Microsoft Certified Security Professionals at IBM Consulting are trained to embed Microsoft security tools within complex cloud environments.
