Cybersecurity company Forescout Technologies announced that it has completed the Information Security Registered Assessor Program (IRAP) assessment at the protected level of its cloud security platform. This achievement underscores Forescout's commitment to delivering cybersecurity solutions designed to meet the highest data protection and compliance standards in Australia.
The IRAP rating provides assurance to federal government agencies that Forescout software has been evaluated to operate at a protected level in a secure cloud platform environment, a basic requirement for government agencies adopting cloud-hosted solutions.
“Becoming IRAP accredited reinforces our ability and commitment to achieving the highest standards of security and compliance in Australia, as we already do as the preferred and trusted partner for securing the world’s largest organisations,” said Barry Maines, Forescout CEO.
IRAP assessments ensure that systems, services and infrastructure meet stringent security requirements set by the Australian Cyber Security Centre. This provides a high level of confidence that sensitive and classified data is appropriately protected.
“With the successful completion of our IRAP assessment at the protected level, we are proud to further expand our expertise and solutions to support the continued protection of the Australian public sector and critical infrastructure providers in the face of a rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape,” said Colin Jarrow, ANZ Director at Forescout.
“As more Australian government agencies and organizations embrace a cloud-first strategy and begin to embrace AI capabilities, their attack surface is expanding, making it more important than ever to link these developments to a robust cybersecurity strategy,” he added.
Last month, Forescout announced Forescout for OT Security, a new SaaS OT (operational technology) security solution that allows organizations to secure complex, heterogeneous OT, IoT/IoMT, and IT environments whether they reside entirely in the cloud, or Completely insulated, air-tight, or hybrid. The solution aims to cover managed and unmanaged devices across all levels of the Purdue model for securing cloud, open air and hybrid environments.
