RESTON, Va., July 25, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — F5 today announced its selection as a supplier in the Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) awarded to Carahsoft Technology Corp., a Trusted Government IT Solutions Provider®. The BPA is for a four-year performance period through September 4, 2027.
Under the agreement, Carahsoft will facilitate access to F5's cybersecurity software products, including software licenses, subscriptions, maintenance, support and services to support information technology (IT) operations across the Department of Defense enterprise.
“We are pleased to have achieved this milestone in being added to the DoD’s software procurement agreement with Carahsoft. This agreement will provide DoD, as well as other federal agencies under the agreement, with an alternative contracting approach to obtaining F5’s application delivery and security solutions and services with better discounts compared to the General Services Administration and faster procurement cycles to deliver our technology. In fact, we have already seen the benefits of this agreement with a number of U.S. Air Force acquisitions at the end of the last fiscal year and are currently working on additional DoD acquisitions to leverage the software procurement agreement.” Tim Clark, Director, U.S. Defense, F5.
The Commercial Procurement Act is consistent with the Federal Procurement Streamlining Act and IT Category Management Best Practices, with the goal of reducing costs associated with traditional procurement processes. These processes include sourcing, developing technical documents and requests, negotiating contract terms, and evaluating proposals.
F5 software solutions are readily available under Carahsoft’s Blanket Purchase Agreement No. N66001-23-A-0049 through GSA Schedule 47QSWA18D008F.
