Cloud security requires a structured approach tailored to organizational needs. Organizations face challenges in visibility, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency, requiring them to implement robust controls, foster a culture of security, and use cloud-native tools.

The traditional “lift and shift” migration approach hinders an organization's ability to innovate and automate. “We let them know about the flaws and then help them modernize the applications in a couple of different ways, including moving to a more cloud-based infrastructure,” said Leonard Bernstein, global technology lead for the AWS Global Partner Security Initiative.
Most organizations often adopt a hub-and-spoke model for cloud security. This approach typically involves a central security governance team, a cloud engineering team to implement security control, and an operations team for proper implementation, said Siva VRS, vice president and global business unit head for systems integration and managed security services at Wipro.
“Whatever stage of their journey they are in, security should be a priority from day one,” Siva said.

Bernstein has more than 20 years of experience in IT strategy, operations, cybersecurity, and service delivery. He leads the global Solutions Architecture and Security teams at AWS, driving strategic initiatives that help customers of all sizes securely scale and maximize their cloud initiatives.
