Check Point is the first to market a unified security solution for Cloud Workload Protection (CWPP) and Security Posture Management (CSPM), delivering continuous serverless security with unparalleled runtime protection and application optimization.
Protego, an Israeli startup, offers serverless security technology that prevents malicious attacks on serverless functions at runtime, and prevents vulnerable code from being deployed to production.
Check Point will integrate its innovative serverless security technology into its Infinity architecture, the market-leading unified security solution for networks, mobile devices, endpoints, IoT and cloud environments.
The rapid adoption of serverless computing technologies like AWS Lambda is challenging existing security standards in the cloud and applications. The move to cloud-native applications carries many inherent vulnerabilities and potential misconfigurations that require expanding security solutions to protect functions and code.
Check Point CloudGuard delivers consistent, comprehensive cloud security for all assets in public, private, hybrid, or multi-cloud environments. The solution is now expanded with serverless security, giving CISOs full visibility, control, and security coverage for all serverless assets with the click of a button. Protego integrates out of the box with the broadest suite of CI/CD frameworks so DevOps teams can ensure only compliant functionality is deployed to production. The deal is expected to close in Q4 2019 and the technology will be integrated into Infinity's architecture in Q1 2020.
