A survey found that 59% of business leaders cite budget constraints as the main barrier to achieving cloud security goals, followed by complexity at 47% and a lack of skilled resources at 41%, BetaNews reports.
According to the survey conducted by Gatepoint Research on behalf of Orca Security, executives identified misconfigurations as the top cloud security risk at 57%, followed by unauthorized access at 50%, and data breaches at 35%.
Gilles Giron, CEO of Orca Security, emphasized that budget and skill resource constraints present significant challenges to ensuring enterprise cloud security.
“While organizations on average purchase five or more security tools, this does not appear to provide the much-needed visibility and only adds complexity by having to manage disparate tools,” Giron said.
The survey indicates that increased visibility across the cloud would significantly improve security posture, followed by threat prioritization, automated risk mitigation, and simplification of security tools. Key cloud security goals include optimizing infrastructure, increasing efficiency, and maintaining compliance.
