AWS has been a proud participant in FedRAMP since 2013. With Fedramp continuing to update federal cloud security assessments, we are excited to support this shift towards a framework of more automatic and effective compliance. Today, we emphasize our support for both APN partners and government agents through this development and sharing our view on these important changes.
On Monday, March 24, the Public Services Department announced a major reform of how to support the IT service provider for cloud services services service as part of FedramP. AWS is still devoted to maintaining support for current FedramP licenses while preparing for the new program frame, entitled FedRAMP 20x (FR 20X). This means continuing to comply with all current operations, including continuous monitoring, as part of the current licenses of our private services so that government operations change officially.
To move forward, we intend to participate in industrial work groups to help forming implementation standards. We also invest in the tools and services that will help partner and agency customers adapt to the new compliance model in order to speed up their cloud trips safely. We look forward to FedramP support for the verb once, and the reuse of many. “
The main updates of our partners and customers:
Adoption of the first automation approach. Automation speeds up the availability and use of the latest cloud services by federal customers. AWS continues to enhance the compliance automatic capacity for our compatibility with the FR 20X vision. Simplify the authorization process. Fedramp moves towards a more efficient license that enhances continuous automation and monitoring. AWS is in a good position to support this transition through a wide range of cloud governance services. Promote security validation. The new framework will emphasize the verification of compliance in the actual time and the automatic verification of control. AWS continues to invest in capabilities that will help customers meet these advanced requirements while maintaining the highest security standards.
Look forward: FedramP update is an important step forward in federal cloud security. AWS is still committed to providing our government customers with the tools, resources and support they need to achieve success in this advanced scene.
We encourage our customers to:
Continue to work with the current FedramP instructions, keep in view of the upcoming changes through AWS channels, to participate with its account manager for more directive. Starting to explore the capabilities of automation in order to comply with security
With the emergence of these changes, AWS will continue to provide updates and guidelines to help our customers move successfully. For the latest information about AWS compliance offers and FedRAMP, please visit our FedRAMP page.
