Exposure management company Tenable announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Eureka Security, a data security posture management (DSPM) vendor for cloud environments. Eureka Security helps security teams gain a comprehensive view of an organization's cloud data security footprint, combat policy drift and misconfigurations that put data at risk, and continually improve their security posture over time. The acquisition is expected to close this month.
By adding DSPM capabilities to its CNAPP solution, Tenable will help customers identify key clues related to cloud data risks, including where sensitive data resides in the cloud, who has access to that data, and how serious the risk is posed by a potential data breach. This type of visibility is key to an organization's ability to accurately assess its cloud security compliance.
In the Tenable Cloud Security Outlook 2024 study, 95 percent of organizations surveyed had experienced cloud-related breaches in the past 18 months. Of these, 92% reported exposure to sensitive data, and the majority admitted to being harmed by exposure to the data.

The DSPM integration will complement Tenable Cloud Security's existing solution that already includes key capabilities such as unified CNAPP, iron-clad CSPM protection, cloud workload protection, and CIEM, among others, which will give security teams context and priority guidance to make effective and accurate remediation decisions. Eureka Security DSPM capabilities are expected to be integrated natively into Tenable Cloud Security and its flagship CNAPP solution later this year.
The acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on revenues this year.
